Brigi and Peti's Wedding
Böhönye, Nagypince Borhotel Wine & Spa (esküvői fotó és videó)
Brigi and Peti’s wedding took place at the Nagypince Borhotel in Böhönye. This is where we first met the couple in person, months before their big day. We always emphasize how important it is to have a face-to-face conversation (and if distance makes that difficult, then at least do it online via video chat) so we can get to know each other—after all, we’re preparing for one of the most significant days of their lives, and we don’t want to “just show up” at the wedding as complete strangers.
To capture truly great shots, it’s absolutely essential that we get a feel for the couple’s personality and dynamic, and understand their style and expectations regarding the photo and/or video shoot. One of the keys to great photos is establishing a good connection and rapport with the subjects. In Brigi and Péter, we met very open, easygoing, and friendly people who were able to celebrate their big day with their adorable little girl, Réka.
A few days before the wedding, we went over once again if there were any potential changes, and then the big day arrived. Although we’d found our way there easily the first time we visited, that day the GPS decided it would be much more interesting to take an alternative route and approach the Nagypince through the gardens. I don’t know where Google got the idea that there was a road there, but in any case, it was a good thing we were in an all-wheel-drive SUV. We managed to fight our way through the thicket, ditches, and ravines until we finally pulled up in front of the Nagypince’s door, covered in mud from head to toe—which was all the more surreal because by then the sun was beating down, it was 30 degrees in the shade, and every speck of dust was baked dry.
It was good that we arrived on time, because we still had to set up our photo booth in the restaurant, along with our printing station, which we’d use later that evening to create gifts for the guests. Everything was in one place, so we didn’t have to run back and forth. We were able to be present for the important moments right from the start of the preparations. The couple got ready in separate rooms, making sure they wouldn’t see each other, so their first glimpse of each other in their wedding attire in the upper hall was a special surprise. The wedding was filled with a host of unexpected moments: there was a prankster bride, fireworks day and night, a horse-drawn carriage, a wedding dance, a laser show, music, and dancing until dawn. The intense heat put everyone to the test—the party guests and the photographers alike. We had to make sure our equipment didn’t overheat, but it held up well, and we captured a record amount of footage, both in photos and videos. Without claiming to be exhaustive, below you can see a small sample of the footage.
