Real estate photography

The five most common motivations I've encountered in my career for getting professional quality photos of a property are:

If you are looking to sell or rent out your property it is very important to have good quality shots of it inside and out. After all, since the internet has been around, almost everything is a click away and most people will certainly look there first. A photo is the first thing a buyer or prospective tenant will come across and will immediately form an opinion, a sort of mood, about the property. A sophisticated portfolio does not always mean a property of impeccable quality, of course, but it is a good introduction to investors from all points of view. A sophisticated photo also implies a sophisticated owner, for whom it is important that the property is "in good order".

For damage events, it is essential that the colours reflect the original state and the photo is sharp and high-resolution to capture the details. The time factor is not negligible either, as the situation may change the next day, the photo has to be taken there and then, and the photographer's flexibility and mobility are required. There may be places that are difficult to access, e.g. rooftops, or a large field or forest, where aerial photography is the most appropriate solution. In planning work, some areas (densely overgrown bush, ravines) are very difficult to measure by hand, and a top view can be useful to know what to compare. For landscaping plans, it is almost essential to have a photograph showing the exact position of the property in relation to its surroundings.
